AP season has arrived, so the Southerner decided to ask South students how they are feeling about their AP tests. This year, South offered 12 AP classes, ranging from sciences, to mathematics and language. The first week of tests kicks off with AP Biology and Microeconomics on May 5th.
South sophomore Micaiah Hendricks is in 2 AP classes this year, AP Precalculus and AP Chemistry. When asked how he feels about the upcoming tests, he said, “I feel pretty confident about the AP Pre-calc one, the AP chem one scares me a little bit, so I’m going to expect the worst and hope for the best.” When asked about how much he has been preparing for the test, Hendricks said, “Not enough. I have been pretty busy with baseball, so the AP Chem studying has hit the back burner.” Nick Beckham-Ching, another sophomore in AP Chemistry, has taken a different approach. Beckham-Ching said he is feeling pretty good about the upcoming test, and told us, “I’ve been making study guides, and doing practice exams basically every night, so I feel pretty good about it.”
Ismael Youssuf, a junior this year, is taking 3 AP classes: English Language, Biology, and Government. When asked how he is feeling about the tests, he said, “I feel confident for a few of them, and not confident for one of them. I think I got a good shot in Lang and Gov, but Bio, not at all, no chance.” Youssuf told us he has been preparing by doing practice tests and rereading material while also trying to enjoy life at the same time.
With the tests arriving, The Southerner hopes all of your hard work and studying pays off, and wish you the best of luck on your AP tests.
