Helen Worku, Staff Writer

Helen Worku is a sophomore at South High and is in her first year on the Southerner. Worku was placed in the newspaper by her counselor, but even though she didn’t select it herself, she is enthusiastic about taking advantage of the opportunity to learn a new skill. In and out of school, Worku is passionate about learning, and says that reading and watching documentaries is something she really enjoys. Due to her passion for learning, Worku does not have a specific type of articles she hopes to write, she says that she just wants to write what comes her way in order to learn about topics that she usually wouldn’t think about.
