The Southerner

Dinko Kendrick, Staff Writer

Senior Dinko Kendrick is starting her first year with The Southerner. She is very interested in taking journalism in college and feels being a part of The Southerner allows her to take a step forward for her future. She is focused on learning the structures surrounding newspaper and the basics of producing articles, “Basically to learn how this all works” Dinko says. This class allows her to feel more connected to her community and to bring attention to problems in her school. Her main focus surrounds student expectations as well as student to teacher/faculty relationships and issues.

Dinko has been on the women's varsity soccer team since freshman year. Outside of sports and school, she enjoys reading. Her favorite read is Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz. Movies and books are her ideal way to consume media because “they are all about perspective.”
