Several South teachers visited Andersen School this morning to show solidarity with teachers there in the wake of yesterday’s Star Tribune article on teacher evaluation. The article, headlined “Minneapolis’ Worst Teachers in Poorest Schools, Data Show,” categorized every school’s teaching staff as “below average,” “average,” or “above average,” based in teacher observations, student surveys, and student test scores. Eva Neubeck, a South social worker, said, “The article . . . was demeaning . . . and I went [to Andersen] to show my support and appreciation for their hard work.”
