To the ecstasy of it’s fans, the ‘Magic: the Gathering’ card game club will once again be started at South by it’s former leader, Mr. Daniel Anderson. “I’m really excited about it. I can finally get more people to play [Magic] with.” said Thor Paulson, a resident Magic player.

The club was disbanded after players lost interest. “The students lost interest [and] I lost interest.” said Mr. Anderson. But a reenergized ‘Magic’ subculture this year has caused the club to become once again active, and players will meet (tentatively) every Thursday.

Magic The Gathering is a role-playing trading card game that was introduced in 1993 and quickly gained popularity. It has a loyal following in Minneapolis, with stores like Monster Den and Source Comics and Games selling cards and hosting tournaments. “It’s hard for Magic to not be spreading.” said Thor. “[I want students to know] that it’s easy to play and lots of different people play it.” said Mr. Anderson.
