Gabbard, a Senator since 2012, is one of the few Democratic candidates with Military experience in the National Guard. Seen as a Progressive, Gabbard supports ending fossil fuels for electricity use by 2050 as well as a banning fracking. Gabbard supports making public colleges tuition free, Medicare-For-All, and a decrease of military presence overseas. Gabbard has strongly opposed President Trump’s ban on transgender Americans serve in the military. Gabbard has been criticized for her past stances against same-sex marriage.
