Sophomore Shuoeib Ahmed wasn’t really sure what to expect when joining newspaper, but when reading up on it he thought it sounded like an interesting class. He is looking forward to conducting interviews, and is hoping to improve his interviewing skills so he can apply what he learns to other projects in school. He is also very excited to write sports stories and cover sporting events.

Ahmed says that what keeps him motivated in school is sports. He plays football in the fall, basketball in the winter, and track in the spring. Football and track are his favorites; and though he has played football for the longest he just started doing track last year. “[Sports] keep me focused and help with my grades,” he said.

In the future, Ahmed hopes to live in Florida and have some sort of job in computer science. But in the meantime, he is happy with sports, school, and hanging out with friends in his free time!
