My name is Ruby and I'm a freshman and staff writer for the Southerner. I'm here because I enjoy learning about new things in my community and am interested in writing about them. When I have free time I enjoy spending time with my friends and listening to classic rock. One thing I also like to do is start friendly wars against my classmates (such as "in the name of Ella" and "who's the head of the table?").

Senior Mariah Marshall holds her five month old daughter Jordyn. Marshall switched to South from Washburn this year specifically for the TAPP program. Marshall explained her choice, I visited all the ones closest to where I am and South is the one I felt most comfortable with, she said. Now Marshall is able to visit her daughter at any point in the day. According to TAPP teacher Tanya Lovelace, most mothers have lunch with their babies every day.

24th October: Seasoned chicken legs, potatoes, and fresh green beans this time. Winner: THE COOKIE I WAS GIVEN AS PART OF A PSYCHOLOGY EXPERIMENT Cookies beat every possible savory option there was this week. This plate especially was quite dubious: pinkish chicken which I’m assuming (hoping?) was safe, poorly cooked potatoes, and green beans that were outstandingly normal. Sugar, however, always gets me to smile, even if I’m forced to go through the prisoner’s dilemma to get it.
