Annika Lara Walen is a senior beginning her second year at the Southerner, this time as the Sports and News Editor. This year, she would like to branch out her writing in hopes to learn more about the South community through her stories. Outside of journalism, Lara Walen has many hobbies, including skateboarding, juggling, and listening, watching, and making music. She also prides herself in her handstand skills and is always looking for new hobbies to add to her list. Lara Walen likes to spend her time outside and staying active, playing soccer, basketball, volleyball, and running track.
