The Southerner

Tannen Holt
Tannen Holt is a freshman and he is very excited to be a part of the Southerner staff this year. He loves writing and would like to pursue a career in journalism. Tannen spent his summer putting on community bike rides at the Cultural Wellness Center. In fact, if he could be doing anything right now, it would be biking! The friendly 9th grader is looking forward to joining the ultimate frisbee team and green tigers. At his middle school Tannen played a lead in the Shakespeare play and he can’t wait to be a part of South’s vibrant theater community. His other hobbies include playing the guitar and writing poetry. Tannen has been writing poetry for two years and enjoys all kinds of poetry. The young writer’s favorite book is The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton and his favorite movie is Pulp Fiction. His favorite color is red because “it is intense and beautiful and the same time”. The social fourteen year old likes to always have something to do and prefers to never be alone. Tannen is eager to contribute to the Southerner because he loves writing and expressing his opinions, no matter how controversial!
