The Southerner

Mia Swanson
If you want to find staffer Mia Swanson she can be seen walking down the hall with a large fitting shirt and her signature converse on. Swanson keeps up and with the times by sporting some newly dyed hair. Swanson is a second year staffer and a sophomore. When she first signed up for newspaper, she was excited to meet new people and expand her writing abilities. She accomplished all her goals last year and on top of it had a lot of fun, so she came back this year to take another swing at the big leagues of high school journalism. Swanson said she loved journalism and the southerner newsroom because she felt pushed out of her comfort zone. Outside of newspaper, Swanson has many interests. She loves art of all types. She does writing for films, she sings and plays guitar and helps paint murals. As for her favorite artist, she said she loves Banksy. If you don't see Swanson on the search for the latest scoop, you might just catch her designing clothing for her new line of shirts or hanging out with fellow reporters James Warren and Oliver Hall.
