The Southerner

Maya Edmonds
Maya Edmonds has joined the South High Southerner for her first year and although it originally may have been an accident, she is excited to learn more about writing in a journalism setting and improve her skills in academic and personal writing. Edmonds is always open to exploring new opportunities and is thrilled to be a part of the Southerner community. At some point in her life, Edmonds hopes to travel from Greece to Costa Rica to France and beyond through her dream career in the travel industry.

Her friends and family are most important to her, and you will always find her spending time with them either just hanging out or going thrift shopping. She would describe herself as optimistic, and is most passionate about social and environmental justice. Maya finds her happy place deep in the woods, or at her Grandma’s house, where she may be eating her favorite foods, chocolate and spaghetti, watching the TV show X-Files, or looking at pictures of pigs.
