Soline Van de Moortele, News and Web Editor

From slam poetry to women’s basketball, senior Soline Van de Moortele has seen it all. In her third year as a staff member she serves as the News and Web Editor and the admin behind The Southerner Facebook.

Her love for writing and reading combined with her desire to put her voice out in the world has resulted in her journalism career at South High School.

For a semester, Van de Moortele had an amazing time in Thailand living with a host family and doing volunteer work. She hopes to travel back one day, possibly finding a place to live there as well.

In her free time you can find Van de Moortele reading, watching ducks, going to punk shows, sitting in cafes with friends and scouring record stores for My Bloody Valentine, bossa nova and latin pop.
