As the parent of a new South 9th grader I have seen this first hand. I believe the new way the district is shipping entire classes into the high schools is a complete waste of time and money. I was lucky enough to be able to have Sharon White ( South Parent Liason) meet with me and my daughter last year and give us a true look into South. She got us into classrooms, toured the entire building, introduced us to teachers, and showed us what lunch looks like. She answered most of my questions, and if she didn’t know the answer she made a point to find someone who did. My daughter was focused on the reason we were there. It was prior to the schedued school tour she went on later that week. I made a point to get her to South before she formed an opinion based on what her friends thought. She was able to make a choice based on that tour, not the school tour. When her school came they talked to each other about what they liked and didn’t like, etc. Sharon White’s personal tour convinced us that South was the place to be. The district needs to rethink its current “shadowing” of schools and return to the old way.

Blatant ignorance and pseudoscience, citing these “studies” would help people come to their own conclusions rather than reading through your bashing of the video game industry.

I would have to wonder if you have any first hand experience, more than what you have read in articles and reviews of games.

“beating up a hooker” in Grand Theft Auto this action isn’t mandatory and I believe it speaks more about the individuals tendencies.

Also you AREN’T the person performing these actions, you are controlling a digital character

My mom wrote about this and her article was published in npr! The people from 60 minutes found it and they came and filmed her and another teacher from her school(Woodbury high) and she was on 60 minutes a few weeks ago!!
